Hi all my name is Greg

I own a web site in Australia called Old Bull Trailriders which is mainly for the over 30 trail rider, www.obtrailriders.com

My XR650R was purchased from GHR which is the Honda factory appointed off road race team. The team had built it for the 2005 Australian Safari. The safari was never ran in 2005 so the bike just sat in workshop until I purchased it. I was told that they had spent over 100hrs building the bike and the cost including purchase cost of the bike and ...

Gday,

My name is mick and I am giving 45 a good nudge,I currently ride a 2001 XR650R that I have only owned for about 4 months after selling my HRC kitted XR630. I was very happy with the old XR untill I got my 650 and now can't believe I perservered so long with the old girl!!

My 650 had only ever been ridden on the road and it was bog stock when I bought it and didn't have a scratch on it. I have ...

Hi, just registered after lurking a bit reading build threads and looking at pictures!

Was doing a build of a DR650, too heavy and no power. Sold it. Fingers crossed about to replace it with a 2000my XR650R.

Never really been a 'Honda man', but i have previously owned an XL600 which was a good bike and a couple of Honda road bikes which were pretty wank. Getting the XR because i can't afford a 950KTM!

Anyhow, just saying hello.

Hey all.

I finaly pulled the trigger on a BRP after finding a clean low k's job in Melbourne and we're driving down next week to pick her up. Should be a delightfull eight hour plus drive..But I recon I can talk my mate into dropping me and the bike off at the Barry Way though then meeting up Jindabine if I shout lunch and a beer or two, what could be fairer than that?

Anyway, Ive been out of the dirtbiking loop for a few years and now its time for me to get back in.

So on that note I have ...

I have alot of experience on an XR mainly the 400, and am currently riding a Yamaha WR400.
I'm from the SLC, Utah area. Currently living and training in Fort Leonard, MO until I return home to Utah in January. I purchased my 2nd XR650R just before I left to come out here in late July and have been stock piling new parts for it back home. hehehe. So far my wife hasn't made a fuss.

I sold my first XRR about 2 years ago and regretted it. I knew I'd have another soon enough.

I bought this second bike from a guy all the way near Reno, NV. Yes I drove all the way out there ...

What do you Aussies use for "luggage management"?

I am picking up my low miles 2000 XR650R this Saturday and am extremely excited. I rode an XR400 for years and loved that bike, but like all certified bike nuts I just had to try something else, so I got rid of the XR after 5 trouble free years of romping it hard, and went with a YZ450F. Hated it, hated it. So got rid of it and got a CRF450X. The CRF was okay but I decided that it was time to get back on an XR and put a dual sport kit on it, plate it and open a whole new world of riding experience. ...

I picked myself up a 2001 Honda XR650R, that has supermotard rims/wheels, and came with the stock off road ones too. Here are a few pictures:

I'm hardly a Motard kind of guy...It was how the bike came with mint condition Excel rims. The kids old man was setting it up for supermotard for himself...but blew out his knee going down on his KTM. I'll ride it in that setup some, but I mainly got it for dirt duty, as I'm into mines, and exploring in general plus I like to go out ...

Just made the transition from streetbike to XR!! I've owned 2 x GSXR1000, and RC51, 2 x CBR1100XX and various other BMWs. I just rode the XR home to Half Moon Bay. I'm impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have some questions. It is a 2000 with only 2300 miles on it . Is there anything I should be on the look out for as far as mechanical issues? It has been de smogged and has a white bros exhaust, otherwise pretty stock. How often do I change the oil? What about chain tension, is it ...

So far I've ordered hardened footpeg bolts and a Hodakaguy tanker brace. Oh yeah, Ordered magnet wire to rewind the stator.
