Need a stock gas tank

Post  Bump on Fri Oct 23, 2009 5:12 pm

Hi,

I have a friend who needs a stock gas tank. Let's face it-the stock tank is worthless so do a brutha a favor and get some good karma in return. I gave mine to "Q" two years ago.

Let's see some love here Pig Wranglers.

No petcock - no decals.

You guys in Bend are a great group. Do you know Dave Wachs?

A guy about 8 miles from here had one. I do still need a petcock though. Geez, I hate that word...

Thanks for your kind offer!

If you see Dave and his wife soon, please tell him Pat from Sonoma said, "Hello!"

I sent them some wine and some other things a long time ago. They were very kind and gracious. At the time I was planning a trip up to stay and ride with him. But my wife has since been transferred to Irvine, California (about three weeks ago) and now I'm back in my home turf of So Cal (I"m from LA.)

I really like that eastern Oregon area. And it, like a very few other areas in the USA, seems to be populated with some great people who are really devoted to the area. My folks bought a lot at the base of Coffee Pot Rock (Sedona) in the mid-60s. I caught my first trout there in Oak Creek. Then we watched the place get taken over by people who loved it to death.

In any case, Dave and Lisa seem like great people. My kids are one and four so I ride once for about every ten trips I plan. And two months ago I mothballed my bike because I get so frustrated being a flake. I can't square telling my four year-old that, "if you are not early then you are late", with me planning and packing for trip and then canceling at the last minute because someone other than me in the house has pnuemonia? Still, in a couple of years I'm gonna plan for a whole week up there. Perhaps I can buy you a bottle of wine? I even have a jet kit from Eric Siraton for the Bend area elevation.

I'll be sure to let Dave know Pat.

Wachs leads some epics rides through SE Oregon.

I hear you on having little ones, my youngest is 9 now, just learning how to ride. I also have 2 teenage Daughters....
The girls don't seem to need me anymore, unless they want $$.

Do you think 9 is the best age to start 'em?

The sooner the better.....

That's just when my little guy was "ready". I didn't force it on him at all.

I think the sooner the better, but it took me and him a while.

I'm learning to be more patient and trying hard to be a good teacher.

..........

And, Dave says......"Hi" back to Pat

Why is the stock tank worthless? I know it doesn't hold much....
