Jetting Database

Post  AtomicXRer on Sat Dec 06, 2008 8:32 am

For informational and sometimes useful purposes, a jetting database would be good.

2005 XR650R
Stock Carb
Elevation: 7000 - 11000 ft
165 Main, 68 pilot, clip at 3rd position from top

05 with PC headers and muffler,Hot Cam 2,mild porting and valve work, vented side panel,11.5 coated Wiseco piston,Precision Concepts airbox insert. For jetting I use 68s pilot,HRC kit needle in middle for Baja and second for Idaho,175 main for Baja,172 for 5-6 thousand feet elevation in Idaho. Mung

The best jetting guide is Borynacks jetting guide on his site. It tells how go to jet for what mods you have done. I've jetted my pig accordingly, and it runs great. Over 2000' it runs a little rich, and over 5000' it runs really rich, and dies sometimes. I usually ride pretty low, and in the desert it pulls away from just about anything else out there.

The most trouble I've had is getting the air/fuel mixture screw right. Other than that, Borynacks guide has been great.
