Im a very happy Lad. Been looking for months. I found a 2000 model a few weeks ago and the guy sold it before we were to meet on saturday. Frustrated He wanted 2000 bucks for it. I found one in Alabama last night, almost 5 hrs away. He is going to meet me so its only gonna be about 3 hrs for me. He has a 2007 and said it is as new for 2700 bucks. Sounds like a good deal to me. He said its only been on 6-8 trail rides and still has the origanal rear tire and is about 90%. He also said he starts it up and rides it around in his yard ever couple of weeks to keep it oiled and running good. Im so excited, I fell like a 10 yr old boy on CHRISTmas morning. banana

I got it! My computer has been at the shop for four days and havent been able to post.

I have rode dirt bikes since I was in the 3rd grade and this BRP is the most violent bike I have ever been on! The bottom end is rediculous strong. Dude had 66 miles on it but he owned it for 3 years and changed the oil every spring. He uncorked it and keeped it in his garage. Im not joking when i say it looks like someone rode it off the showroom floor and got it dusty.

Only thing I dont like about it is it is hard to start. I dont understand the comp release. I pull it in and kick all day and it doesnt do any thing. But if I choke it let it get to top dead center and kick it twice it will start. It is when it is hot its a PIA to start. Plus when its hot and Im trying to start it, it backfires and sounds like a shotgun going off. Also Im only 5'9" and its a bit tall so Im gonna do the lowering link. And move the forks up in the triple clamps. I have been riding around my house and am planning a trip for next weekend. I will try and post pics. I have never put pics up so it may not happen but I will try. Now Im going to edit my info Very Happy.

I struggled a bit to start mine when I first got it but they really are easy when you understand the technique.
Cold start procedure should be.
Fuel on, choke out, pull the decomp lever and kick it through a couple of times, release the lever kick down until it goes solid (tdc), pull in the lever and just ease it over top, release the lever and let the kickstart come fully back, then give a firm full kick. The bike should start. It is very important not to twist the throttle as doing this will prevent it from starting. I hold the front brake lever to prevent myself from doing this.

The hot start issue seems to be that the bike is flooded with fuel. It may be that the float height allows fuel in once the bike is leaned slightly off vertical or that you are twisting the throttle as you kick.

My bike will flood it it has fallen over (with or without me being on it) and at least once during the ride for no apparent reason.
When this happens I first try the "racing start" which is fully open the throttle to allow as much air in as possible again holding the brake lever to prevent my hand slipping on the throttle. ease the engine over top and then give it a good kick many times this will start it.
If this does not work I turn off the fuel tap, pull in the decomp lever, kick the bike through about a dozen times (I dont turn off the kill switch so I hear it back fire a couple of times in the air box I have the spark shield in but know of one case where a bike caught fire doing this), I then ease the engine over top, release the decomp lever, give a firm kick with no throttle, the bike will start, very rarely I have had to repeat this procedure for a second time, then very important to turn the fuel back on.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I will try that. Im getting the hang of it now. When its hot I give it no gas and just kick it with it just past tdc. And it is easier. After riding this thing for a few days it seems like all the other bikes are sick. Im loving the power! Im gonna ride it till I sell my R6 then Im gonna set it up as a super moto bike. And at that point Im gonna get a 250 crf or Xr 250 or 400, Probobly a xr400. Maybe even a drz 400. But a motard is my main reason for wanting the 650R.
