Loss of power, pulled over and died.
Have a 2005 XR650R that I have been using to commute back and forth to work with this spring. It is geared 15/48, has a stage 2 cam kit, and HRC hopup kit installed. So I'm riding home a couple nights ago and stop for fuel (91 octane) and hit the road again. About 10 minutes later I notice a slight loss of power and a quick hesitation like the bike stalled. I begin to downshift to pull off the the side of the road and have a look. Get the bike pulled over and it dies. No strange engine noises were heard either... I check the oil level (okay), the antifreeze reservoir (okay).. Go to start the bike again and it starts up, then dies quickly after starting. Now it is extremely hard to turn the pison over via kickstarter so just let the bike cool until somebody can pick me up in their truck. So yesterday I go to start it up again and it starts right up. Then dies within 30 seconds and the piston will not rotate. With no signifigant engine noises to tell about I am not sure what is going on. Any help or insight would help guys. Thanks

Re: Loss of power, pulled over and died.
Did you pull all of the oil screens and oil filter for inspection? Any metal?
Oil pump providing proper flow of oil?
Cam chain ok?
Do you have a service manual?
