XR650R Hard to start when warm???? Empty XR650R Hard to start when warm????

It is 2001 uncorked, twin air filter, stock pipe and rejetted to 165 main, and 68 pilot,
I just rebuilt the carb new floats new air valve all new gaskets, I ride mostly at 4500 or so above sea level, but occasionally up to 6K or so. Runs fine when cold it will start no problem 2 kicks or less on choke warms up no great and runs awesome, tell i stall it or shut it off, go to kick it nothing doest even try, wait like 30 mins kick some more still nothing take the air box cover off and filter out, full choke fires right up and runs great???

it also will drip fuel when i stop even with the engine running, i tried to adjust the floats to the 17MM maybe they are still to high i will take it apart and try that again, just trying to figure out whats up with it not starting when warm, was thinking it might be to rich with the jets i have in it but I'm out of ideas.

also has a new spark plug, petcock rebuilt, and kill switch.

Firstly hello listen up secondly have you increased your tick over ? setting it to low can cause it not to catch when starting....sounds simple but could be just that turn thumb screw in half a turn Bananatool

I have tried that, it was idling kinda high so that shoud be all good. thanks for the reply though.

I'm going to try setting the float lower maybe its just flooding snice its drpping fuel with it running or not when i stop like dripping out of the over flow super super fast.

I'm using standard 175 and 68S most important that you have the S type 68....
Mine can be touchy @ times after short run as I think she is at times too cold for no choke but warm enough not to like choke if that makes sense....

Is your pilot jet/screw properly adjusted may want too take it out and check little rubber o-ring is still intact! might not be the problem but you can rule it out!

MJ 165 sounds a bit too small to me, better up this a bit.
Also, a 68S IJ is the one to go for - which is different than the 68, more airholes hence a different delivery-curve (leaner at the top of it's band).
The '17mm' as far as I remember should be 19mm - for preventing leaking when leant over on the stand however I cannot remember the OEM carb too well: here's me remembering 19mm which should increase to 21mm, so did you increase the value by 2mm (= correct) or did you reduce it perhaps?
