Front wheel spacers Empty Front wheel spacers

Post  Guest Sun Dec 30, 2012 10:26 pm

So, my 'new to me' XR came with both motard street wheels and the off-road wheels. I went to put on the off-road wheels and found that I only got one spacer. Apparently there was a speedometer housing (?) on one side that acts as the other spacer, and this I don't have. Do I have to buy a speedo housing, or is there some other less xpensive spacer option? TIA.

its common for people to remove the factory speedo drive and install acewell or trailtech speedo's. XR's Only do a spacer you can install but its kinda pricey:

I would machine one up myself but depends on if your in the right job or have the right friends... Wink

"If" I ever change my speedo to a Trailtech I will keep the stock speedo drive and fit a mechanical to electrical converter behind the clocks....I think the crappy magnet is a terrible idea which looks dreadful.

I am wondering if the baja designs DS kit ( lights , indicators , horn ,... blah ) fits on the european model xr 650 r because we have the massive speedo clock thingy , does anyone know if it fits ok , or some modifications are needed ?

@Skidmark,
That's for both side spacers, looks like I can get just the speedo side for $18.95 ... maybe worth it to avoid a hassle. I found a front wheel spacer kit by All Balls at Motosport for $10.99, but I'm not sure that the speedo side will work correctly ...

The main light unit its ugly and the bulb its a joke , even most basic h4 bulb gives loads more light , also i have no indicators ( the bike used to have them but some of us use the xr offroad you know asking for it ) , and the rear light is rattling and i like the look of the BD LED setup much more , so the only question holding me back is the compatibility issue Bananatool

Well your stator should be good enough for a decent light ?, indicators should should just connect up ?.
I have the single tail light on the fender which I converted to run a twin LED for stop/tail and added a hydraulic pressure switch to activate.
Post a picture of your bike so we can see whats wrong with her Smile.
