Just assembling my bike. But when the carb fit's allright into cylinderheads muffler it's "a little" too short at the air filter box side. However the engine is installed allright in the frame. Airbox has no "play" to go more to the front. I'm afraid someday to get "wrong air" or water into the carb.
Had anyone the same experiences with the Mikuni of You guys?

Sorry my bad English, not a native speaker ...

There is an adapter required for the TM to fit the XR.
This can be bought separately if you dont have it.

Do You know, where I can buy this one adapter?
The bike was built up by a german tuner, there were some things made on the bike which I don't like listen up

I think it's best to determine IF it is a TM40 at all - post a pic here?

Grizzly,

there you go, Chris' carb is a TM40.
If yours looks same then I'd measure the adapter you need, and have it turned out of aluminium on a lathe (drehmaschine). All you need is overall length, ID of hole (to fit over carb's bellmouth) and OD (which will fit into the filter housing).
Glue it on* with epoxy and you're sorted.

* = make sure you do not block any holes with the glue!

You can get the adapters on eBay - I think $20 for the one and $30 for the other - I preferred to buy mine as a pre-assembled kit with the correct cables.
