My new $1200 BRP
This is my new 2002 XR650R I bought for $1200.
This is the ad:
Honda 2002 XR650R (Simi Valley)
2002 Honda XR650R Great condition!!!! never raced 1 owner and has always had service done ontime. Shocks done by Precision Concepts Suspension, Scott steering damper, Fat bars, oversize foot pegs, Big gun quiet exhaust system, skid plate, upgraded carburetor and many extras must see to appreciate.
VERY CLEAN!!!!!!!! $1600.00 or best offer
The compression was at 90 psi when I went to look at the bike. I adjusated the valves, cleaned the carb and rode it for a mile. The compression jumped to 170 psi.
The bike had no time on it.
The suspension was originally setup for a 300 lbs rider with .49 and a 11.5 springs. The suspension is now set up for a 200 lbs rider .45 and a 10.0 springs different shims and valves.
Now can you say XR680R 11.5 compression and stage 2 cam!

Re: My new $1200 BRP
My brother came out to vist me and do some riding. He only had 3 days to ride. Well he blew up my CR500 30 miles into riding day one. Day two he rode my XR650R for 130 miles while I sat and waited in my truck. The morning of his last day, the bike you see above, the price was dropped to $1200. We called the guy at 9:30 AM. The deal was too good to pass up. Just for parts alone it was worth $1200.
We jump in the truck and drove 11 hours round trip to buy the bike.
So, this is a bike for him to ride when he or friend visit.

Re: My new $1200 BRP
very nice! I'm from Thousand Oaks and just bought my xr650r here about 3 weeks ago. I got what I feel to be a deal on it too, $1700, plated, stage 2 cams, edelbrock carb, clark 4.3 tank, upgraded suspension, white brothers exhaust, gpr stabilizer, bd dual sport kit, and a few other minor things, stoked on my deal. Do you live in Simi or just picked the bike up there and live in Phoenix as your location under your name says?
Edit: 11 hour trip, that means not local, just picked it up really local to me. This was on craigslist? I look at craigslist for xr650r's for my friend all the time and this slipped by me somehow.

Do you want to sell the Edelbrock carb?

Re: My new $1200 BRP
I'd say that I would consider it, but having just taken to the dirt for the first time and comparing it to my dad's 650r with the stock carb, NO WAY! The thing is awesome! I'm very happy with it and the throttle response is ridiculous, going 4th gear half throttle hit a bit of a bump and I can twist that throttle a bit more and get the front end up, I'm ecstatic as you can tell by me trying to hijack your thread and bragging about my good deal, sorry about that by the way, not cool of me but I'm happy to step up to a BRP.
