Dipstick rage!
Seems a bit of a silly issue but... I am totally ***ed off with the dipstick
I've checked the oil several times since I've had the bike and recently changed the oil. I've always found the dip stick a pain. Difficult to loosen and get out and then difficult to put back in again. I know there's a knack to putting it back in, i.e. angle it over to the right, make sure it's not hitting up against anything and make sure it's not cross threaded.
But since the last check I can't screw the bloody thing all the way back in. It starts off ok, I turn it about half way in, one and a half turns, and it just gets steadily tighter until it won't go in anymore. It's fully tight about half way in. I'm sure the metal end isn't caught on anything and I've tried loads of times to get it to screw in properly to no avail.
The plastic thread looks slightly damaged at the beginning of the thread, so I'm assuming that's the problem and I'll order a new one.
Anyone else had similar problems??

Re: Dipstick rage!
sounds like it got cross threaded - should only be the plastic threads on the cap that are damaged so hopefully installing a new one will sort it! I doubt its the actually dipstick stopping it as that would just bend.

Re: Dipstick rage!
New dipstick acquired, and all good now. It was just the plastic thread damaged. £15 well spent!

Yes Larizon,
however you'd have to ask Mauser because I'm utterly useless with fiddling between interconnecting websites on which you post on one, retrieve on the other so it displays on the fourth etc etc, if you're not with me LOL.
Or, PM me with yer email addy and I'll show you the easy way how it looks , after all it's not my unwillingness but just clumsyness
