I just run whatever knobbly tyres I find on eBay....I have about 8 now piled up waiting to go on Smile....might sound strange but I like using knobblies on tarmac my 650 is just for riding the lanes on and speed and grip don't come into my mind I just chug along and enjoy cracking the throttle on the odd patch of gravel/dirt lying in the middle of the lane and watching the back end spin up lol....
My licence plate is held up with an aluminium plate mounted to the rear fender light holes, I ordered a new fender from the states and couldn't face drilling it so worked out how to mount it using some fairly basic fittings and a bit of thought....
It's been on there few years now and not moved or come loose, not sure if it would stand up to much off-road use ?.

Yeah I have maxxis desert it on rear and stock up front seems to go good on tarmac she does get a little squirrely in rear on corners but I will run rear till it wears out try something different! That plate bracket looks great nice clean look I cringe to think of drilling rear fender to mount an aftermarket bracket! I have looked at this one many times but not sure?

I think with this still have to drill holes in fender! maus do you have spacers where it mounts to rear light lens ,whats dimensions of bracket?
