New Bits
Few snaps as bit quiet on here...as always lol...
Ended up going for a 14tooth front as 13's are not available anymore ....as such needed to go up on the rear...54
Chains short and even though I have added ties they keep breaking ?....
Also treated her to new shock guard....had this ages just not fitted....headlight surround both cases and just ordered new fuel tap for the hell of it...was a bargain and I cannot resist bargains. Just waiting on new D.I.D ZVM-X chain to arrive....£65 now that's so cheap wasn't off eBay either !!!

Re: New Bits
Tsk tsk tsk Mauser,
really now, I thought that you were a bit cleverderderst... of course plastic cable ties will break, what was in your tea bru?
Am I the only one that uses steel cable ties for this purpose?
PSst Maus', this hopefully will end the quietness here

Re: New Bits
Was no good; even with steel ties they break....lol
Few more snaps, must confess chain adjusters were difficult to remove on 1 side, was surprised as they were coated in copper slip left side would undo 15mm then go tight....took some getting out replaced bolts with 2 stainless versions a keen eye will spot them.
New chain is fantastic, and great price

Re: New Bits
I did wonder about that, that's why I opted for a slightly longer chain to improve clearance I have been running a 50 tooth rear for last 5 years so not much biggerAndrea XR-Italia.com wrote:pay attention at the rear lower chain guide, with 54 th will wear fast..

Re: New Bits
Stainless chain adjusters....... you clever chick you!!! (much more polite than calling someone a dick innit? )
Fantastic idea, will do a copycat soonest!
Mauser, better self-engineer your chainguard to an extended one, this setup will not last....
Should be easy too, just have a shop machine some nylon plates akin the std stuff but longer/lower - this should be a doddle for someone clever enough to use cable ties for chainlinks lol

Re: New Bits
On a wholly different note Maus', or should I use the word 'tune' ...... you plan on riding only on the rear wheel with that short a gearing?
Almighty deity, short as shite - pls post plenty utubes of it rearing its head out of your garage!

Re: New Bits
lol I have only gone 1 tooth different at the rear from my standard 13~50 gearing....14~54 ?.....these bikes won't power wheelie we had this topic years ago
Thinking of dropping lower chain rollers into the rear chain guard ?...don't think it will need it myself ?

Re: New Bits
I ride with a 13 in front and 50 rear.
It's fun but not very long.
I ride like this for track and enduro.
On the road you can ride at 130/140 km/h but not more, the engine roar too much
But it's fun at each acceleration.
The front sprocket of 13 is available
