Getting the BRP squealing again Empty Getting the BRP squealing again

So, I haven't rode the XRR in 3 years. It was sitting in my friends garage, he fired it up every couple of months. Other than a good service, changing the fluids (not overfilling the oil, did that 3 years ago) do you guys have any specific advice on things to look out for. Oh and upgrading the electrical, has there been a consensus on the best system to go with: Baja, Ricky...ect

Thanks

That's the plan, when I put it away I was just getting the hang of the bike so I'm excited to see how it feels. Looked at all the new ones, was at a 'zuki demo ride last Tuesday and can't wait to get on the XR.

Icelander,

Yes, you must change something: all the brake fluids (you must change this fluid every year, you knew?)!
They're hygroscopic hence draw moisture/water out of the air, never mind it is a sealed system. This water (very little is enough) lowers the boiling point drastically so vapor locking is a possibility, but maybe a rough Viking can live with that... but it also will corrode the inside of the system, and I'm sure you will not want that to happen Bump
But, like Hew says ride it first (after new oil & filter, duh), get things moving so you'll notice what needs attention if any. As per always, I'd remove the chain adjuster bolts, coppaslip them and put them back in, one cannot do this often enough.

Now to the main point: what the f&^k is wrong with you to ignore this terrific bike for THREE YEARS? StirPot
Ride it bru, you'll be an addict again before the first corner BRP smile

Thanks for the reply BuRP,

I knew about the brake fluid, back ground in auto mechanics. Engine coolant is Evans, no worries there. I'll do the adjusters.

I know, I know....THREE FRICK'IN YEARS Frustrated Life got in the way though. Soon, though. Very soon. 2 thumbs

For the record, never lost the addiction. Lost all else but kept the XR.
