To save people time, it does not fit...so I had to spend time to wire up the kit so I could still have front turn signals. I removed the horn, and then drilled out the two upper holes to fit the turn signal stalks, so now they are higher, but I am able to fully turn the wheel.

The Arcebis tank came today, causing me to have more work to do...LOL

A pictire showing the Dakar Kit, for now hanging. Actually it is off the bike as I RTV'ed the old turn signal holes closed. I also used RED locktite on the turn signal stalks as I had to use a spacer (nut) so they would clear the sides of the Dakar plastics.

Here is a shot of the Computer, I mounted it to the existing holes that held down the factory trip meter. Note you will have to grind the bracket down that comes with the AceWell computer to get it to fit here and drill some holes, but this way it is protected behind the Dakar kit.:

Update 08/12/2009:

The Brother in-law came over and we discovered that the Dakar Kit was wired wrong. First off the Turn signal indication on the dash wire was not connected in the right spot tot he wiring harness. Then we discovered the battery pass through to keep the clock memory was not connected to the right area. Fairly easy fixes, just a shame considering the Kit was like $671.44 total.

Also I had to break down the speedometer housing on the front wheel, so if you need help every taking that 100% apart I now know how....so YES it does totally come apart. I had to grind part of the pin so that the wire I got with the AceWell would work. So that took some time and effort...but now it all works great. So not really AceWell's fault here, more of Honda's fault.

The Acrebis is on the bike and hooked up, I however have to remove it to run the temp sensor wire, and the RPM wire for the computer. I got a Regulator/Rectifier coming from Baja Designs, will use that to power my Garmin Zumo 550, and the KTM fan. Plus I plan to have a few spare cables for future accessories (heated Gear maybe).

The Brother in-law is going to make sure he has enough stator wire, and if not order some and rewind mine. No hurry. We also did notice the subframe has a slight crack on both sides past the bolt...so I will get that rewelded too...which he is going to check with a guy that does Aluminum welding.

You should look into surfacing the inside of the cover the stator will likely rub.

Just to let you know, the brother in-law already did hit stator a while back, no issues. He has the same bike, just newer (2007).

Here is the headlight mounted up, I received the correct bracket in the mail today :

It is hard to get back behind the computer and wires to undo the screws...so after some thinking this is what I decided. To just turn the screws around and flex the plastic some to keep it closed and on the screws. I might actually drill a hole in the screws and use a RC cotter pins I have to keep the plastic from popping off, this be ideal and a speedy way to get to the wires on a trail if needed.

I drained the coolant, to install the temp sensor housing, one more thing done:

Now I know the coolant is fresh, plus I added a bottle of Water Wetter I had lying around, should help the engine stay cool. I also changed the oil again, and this time changed the oil filter too...so I now know that is done.

Intake valves were too tight so we got those adjusted and the exhaust were right on the money. One less thing to worry about, removing that big tank is no fun, and that is with it emptied.

Does that part of the tank hold fuel or is that portion of the tank formed as lower mounting points?
