intermittant fuel leaking Empty intermittant fuel leaking

my trusty '01 has been very rarely spitting fuel from from vent hoses when im rolling for a distant backcountry destination, ive had carb apart, no debris in needle valve, lowered float, and eventually, same deal. in the middle of the maze/canyonlands 100 miles from camper, im shooting pics of red canyon walls, after 1/2 hour enjoying red rock views, get back to bike flooding furiously.......possibly necessitating a call to hazmat, suck. I don't want to get good at pushing, im wondering if needle looks good, if I should replace it and maybe float too, any related experiences with anyone else?
