Cockpit instruments Empty $14

I found an old yamaha speedo that reads up to 100mhp for only $14!!!! it hooked right up and the coolest part was that the odometer was only 200 miles off!! Other than that what do you need? I like to watch whats on the damn road ahead of me anyway. Cockpit instruments 12226 -Matt P.S. I hear the vapors are good.

I'm running a Vapor. I like it. I like the engine temp sensor, and all the historical data that it stores. I mounted it off my bar clamp and it tucks in nice and low and out of the way, but still easily visible. Works good.

Cockpit instruments Empty I have a Vapor I should have written

Post  Guest Mon Oct 12, 2009 5:03 pm

I rode street bikes for years. And have written dirt since about 1965. I never look at my Vapor. It's just not something I am used to in the dirt. I run Evans, Fluidynes, SS XRsOnly thermostat, and have a ceramic coated pipe so heat is never an issue.

My thinking is will you really ever be reading the data the Vapor displays? Out here in the Dez the sun is pretty bright and the display is only one color and not super bright. Plus, if you are in the attack position then looking down is really shutting off all the data you eyes are collecting to ride safely.

My guess is for you to really assess the riding you do and decide if you need all that data. I got a smokin deal on mine and otherwise only really have it in order to meet California Law regarding street legal motorcycles.

But on my KDX200 I plated I just use the Baja Designs analog speedo. Since I never ride on the street I really don't even use the speedo.

I hope that helps.

I have the AceWell and really like it. Back lit for night time. Big display. I leave it on the temp reading, then I turn the fan on and off accordingly. It also keeps your settings should your battery go dead.
