I got some new parts yesterday so I headed out to the garage today to put them on. I bought the Tusk CR Hi bend bars and the Tusk bar risers. I had the Tusk bars on my 05 XR650l and liked them so I bought another pair. Man what a difference it feel's like a new bike. My ride in Socal the (? bend Renthal bars) felt way way to low and it was hard to ride standing up. Now the bars are the right height and I feel good standing. I used all the spacers in the Tusk kit and the cables are just long enough, the bars look good to but seam to scratch easy. I couldn't get the MSR crash bars to fit on the new bars so I added some knock off Acerbis hand guards. I bought them two years ago for $20 bucks each shipped so I bought two pairs, the other pair I put on my CR85 Supermoto. If your looking for some height for your bars you can't go wrong for $19.95 with the Tusk bar risers they look a litttle funky all stacked up but perform great.
2 thumbs

I will try to get pics tomorrow rider

I use the tusk risers as well & have no complaints. Agree they look a little funky when you use the whole stack, but that's also one of the cool things about them is they come with a varity of thickness in the pkg, so you can mix-n-match spacers to get that "perfect" height. nice

+1 on the Tusk risers. I put the entire stack on top of the BRP submount. It took longer throttle cables, but now I have the rise I like.

I'm 6'3...... long legs short arms thats funny

When I stood up with the original setup it felt like the bars were at my knees, now when I stand I have good control of the bike and it feels comfortable. Also when sitting it helps me keep my elbows up and out.

I'm 6'3" as well (was 6'4" but getting old ...) and standing in the attack position just really feels vulnerable. Ride with a friend who is 5'5" and he loos like Easy Rider standing...

hmmm, last time I looked RockyMountain did no longer offer the 7/8-risers
made me a little unhappy

the 'stack' because the Tusk risers cover anything from 1/2" to not sure 2"???
they come with several sets of bolts
and you can stack them to the hight you desire

at 5'6 1/2" with long legs I have CR low bars
as they were flopping around in the garage
and full hight Tusk risers

I can't seem to find the stackable ones on the site. The only $20 dollar ones are these, but they look different in the picture... Are these it?

Was the limited length of the factory stock throttle, decompression and clutch cables an issue?

Did you have to change to longer cables?

I did not, but I have the low bars,
about an inch? inch and a half less than 'CR tall' bars

one trick is to chop your bars in width,
most of mine are cut from the original ~32"
down to 30 or even 29
for real single trail they fit between trees a lot better
and they do not require quite as much cable lenght as full width bars at the same height

For those that may be wanting to add some height to your stock handlebar clamps (7/8 inch) and at the same time go to the 1 1/8 inch fat bars; I recommend these Moose risers.

I have them on my Honda Transalp. 60mm rise along with adapting you to the fatter bars. Add a higher or lower bend bar of your choice and you got affordable customization.

BTW, I have some of those Tusk riser things. Never used. Would sell if someone wanted to buy them. Personally the Moose ones are cleaner looking.

Angelo,

I like yours better than the "stack" of the OP - they'll be more solid & less flexing, and of course they look neater (that stack is visibly misaligned, logical of course).
Another way of doing it is mounting the Scotts SUB triple clamp which automatically raises the bars quite a bit - and is a solid thing too. Of course the added advantage here is the damper, I'll not go 'naked' anymore on an offroad as I've fallen off due to preventable-by-damper occasions too often.

YEAH YOU'RE right, much cleaner. I initially bought my Tusk stack for my playbike TTR125 but found another set of Moose ones, so I've been using two sets of Moose risers to good affect. On my old XRR I did the BRP submount with CR Hi bars so never had to worry about risers.

Where do you get those handguards?...I am wondering if they fit the acerbis pro rally handguard mounts. To replace the acerbis ones it'll cost $53. mad as heck

All the Tusk products are surprisingly decent quality. I've been quite pleased with everything I've gotten from them.

I had a set of ROX risers on an XR600 and think I liked those the most because I could spin them a little bit forward.
