Re: Need Help
Hi Burp,
Yes I can use epoxy on the 5mm screw, thanks.
As the carb is not mine, it is borrowed, and the owner said he was working well, just needed the rubbers, o-rings etc… .. so I kept the configurations, and i did not use epoxy on the air cut valve hole, also.
My goal its with the spares I have try to fix my carb and swap it again, to see how it works…
Meanwhile, Probably I’ll buy this carb, (because this it working fine) than I’ll upgrade main jet to the 178.
Yes I did search around for the correct float-level setting, service manual says 16.0mm I set it on 18.0mm, its ok, no leaks at all. After replace the mixture screw again, did set it 2.0 turns (old mixture screw had 2.0 turns), but i´ll do as you say, around 1.5 turns.
I am assuming that the problem was really the carb, otherwise no idea at all, where was the problem.
Promise, i´ll give you feedback, just need time also, at same time i am rebuilding my old nx650 dominator 1990..
Once again, thank you all

Re: Need Help
Ian,
if you will keep this bike for a planned long time then best to buy a few 'more' parts for the carb for the future, just in case.
Reason is this bike's getting old, carb ditto but the parts are still available now.... but that will change.
Having a few spares is better than looking for them, or having to make do with 2nd hand scrounged one's
Enjoy this bike, it's a great one (... which Honda should have developed further etc etc but they did not )

Re: Need Help
Gentleman,
Ordered a #68S (ebay) received a 68.
Honda dealer do not have code (Part Number) for 68S only 99105-MBN-0680 (#68)
A guy told me for the #68S, the PN its H099105-MBN-0680 (honda dealer do not have this PN).
I saw pictures and have in my first carb, a Keihin slow PILOT jet with the Keihin symbol stamped and 68S.
So, This exists as original Keihin? #68S
Does anyone of has a spare to sell?
thanksss

Re: Need Help
Well......., after all this time, bought more spares to rebuild my previous carb (the one came with BRP)… .and found time to swap carbs again........another big disappointment.
As soon as I fitted, warmed up engine, before leaving garage… old same problem .. hanging revs… at 1700-2000rpm
Do not know what previous owner did …… but definitive it’s a carb problem….
Gave up, and Am using the second....not so powerful at high revs, but it work.....
I do not know because the carbs references are difference if makes any difference....on performance.

Re: Need Help
You would think that's impossible if the thottle is closed how can she rev to 1700 ?must be getting fuel from somewhere to run at the higher rpm ?...unless she running really lean ?

Re: Need Help
..sorry, forgot:
.....as soon as i pull the throttle, the rpm stays at 1500-1700 rpm, need to pull the throttle several times to get it down. When i bought the bike it came like this.. always had problems to get to idle...rpm.
Am using the same settings as the other carb....
