Hi guys,
Just started to change the oil today, drained the frame and sump then removed the frame strainer....all clear and pulled the right crank case cover to check the lower strainer, in doing so the gasket ripped in several places. Anyway whilst I was waiting for a new 1 to arrive I cleaned all the faces carefully and cleared the tapped holes out with a tap and airline.
I have ordered the left gaskt as well as this got ripped when I changed the stator over a few months back, also ordered a chain adjustment sticker for the swinging arm banana all togther including a stud for the right cover came to £23 bargain not bad prices for genuine parts listen up

Maus,

of all guys YOU are in the ideal position/situation to get some Hylomar Blue gasket maker (from merlinmotorsports, UK-based).
Get a tube, then apply that (thinly=best) on both sides of your new gasket, then mount. The next time you'll do this you'll have first of all zero troubles to loosen the cover, but also you actually could remount is as-is, oil & all! Don't of course, but I guarantee you that you won't need a new gasket.
This blue goo is unlike any gasketmaker you've seen, and is oooollllddddd already, the Best There Is!!! Nope, not latex razz neither sillicon, just blue goo - stunning stuff!

As an aside Mauser,
what mileage got yours on, and what did you find in that 'hidden' strainer?
Also, first time for you to check it?

Chewers lads for the help, mileage is a bit unknown on the bike...you know the score with US imports they were only supplied with a trip clock but looking at the general bike condition bolts etc I would say low dry mileage but who knows lol.
Frame strainer was spotless so I pulled the cover and the lower strainer was also spotless listen up all good news I proably won't pull the cover for a couple of years now but I will stick some blue goo on the gasket as suggested also on the stator side.... nice
Yes was first time I pulled the cover and second time changing oil in last 12 months....bad boy I know Smile.
I don't ride my baby hard at all....you know me old man and slow lanes....chug chug around the corners in 4th at 25kph..... Sleep just how I enjoy life nice and slow...not like you kids all rush rush rider
Rang the shop today they had the gasket arrive but not the sticker or stud I had also ordered; hopefully they will arrive tomorrow so i can pop over and get my baby back together.
Is there anything else I shoudl check whilst the cover is off ?
