Throttle sensitivity

So I love the BRP but I have a major bug bear that continually annoys me and that is that its hard to smoothly roll on throttle after rolling off. Any one else experience this or is this just me? If you have what have folks done to fix it? So far I have replaced the cables (with motionpro), obviously with fresh lube and cleaned and re-greased the throttle housing at the grip. My carb has been off and has nice smooth action.
I am about to start taking my son on the back so would like it to be smoother so he doesn't keep banging into me at every jerky roll on.

Simple solution , you need a 4 cylinder engine to make it run smooth  

But seriously what carb are you using ?

I just bought a TM40 - When I grab a handful I want BRAAAAAP and not COUGH BRAAAAAP

I am going to start the tunning proces of my new TM40 on saturday ( not installed yet ) , what is a good starting point for the air screw ? mine is 2 full revolutions out , 25 pj and 140 mj .

i cannot wait to ride the bike

Mine runs like that , not the smoothest and i blame it on the carb , will report soon how the flatslide carb works . If you like the stocker try to replace the linkage ( which lifts the round valve , they are known to wear pretty fast on some bikes and they affect iddle and how smooth the carb responds ,part number - PFKL320335 ARM SET, LINK , cost about 100 bucks .

how tight are you runnin the chain, if you run lots of slack in your chain it will amplify the jerking on/off throttle, too tight will just wear the chain/ output bearing faster

chain is adjusted as per manual - slack measured with weight off rear wheel.

Isn't it better to check slack with the swigarm as horizontal as possible?

I did that the first time I checked it, I had my wife measuring and me altering the to find the tightest place and found that it was only a mm or 2 different when the weight was off so I just adjust it to the middle of the range with the weight off now.

Ok, I have never adjusted my 650R but I know on the 650L I am borrowing there is plenty slack with the bike on the side stand but it changes a lot with the swingarm horizontal. I had to fit a new chain and sprockets for my mate because the chain snapped.
