Hi all,

Portuguese rider here, just picked up a 2000 XR650R.
Rode home 120km from the seller, quite fun.

Will prepare it as a rally/overland bike. Will start renewing the mechanics and then go for tank, navigation, etc.
Can't wait to start working!

I bet is sunny as hell there.

But don't get fooled, here in northern Portugal we get our share of Vizcaya winter weather, nothing like in Algarve

Pics will come next weekend, I believe.

Still a bit undecided about the navigation stuff.
A fairing looks nice and should be confortable, but it's expensive, involves welding and might be fragile in the woods.

Another option is a handlebar bracket like the one from Rebelxsports. Simpler, but takes some butchery to get some wind protection, and I think it ends looking..ehh... butchered
