Couple of noob questions:

1. Whats the starting procedure now? Cold? Warm?
2 How much worse in the fuel mileage?
3. What size needle is everyone running?

Thanks! I just bought the billet aluminum choke plate to! beat head

Should be getting her back tomorrow! I'm pumped! cyclops

I've recently installed the Edelbrock on my pig and so far I love it. I've even found that I can just get my long fingers up under the sahara tank and make adjustments to the mixture without removing the tank, that will be handy for ADV travel 2 thumbs

I live at about 300' elevation, and with the temps in the 30-40's I found the factory's recommended 18 clicks to be way lean. My bike would pop on decell and had boggy acceleration.

I ended up at 13 clicks from full rich, 19E needle, and 1.5 turns out on the pump bleeder screw (I've played with this some and the 1.5 seems to be working good...no flat spot off idle).

Not sure on the fuel mileage, I haven't tested that yet with the new carb. I do find myself whacking the throttle more so that can't help out the MPG's.

Starting is VERY easy.....Turn on Fuel, Give it three slow twists of the throttle (for this cold weather anyways), and then kick using the normal drill. Starts first or second kick every time(usually first).....even dead cold. I don't mess with changing my idle when its cold, I just hold a little throttle in when at idle until the bike warms up and then your set.

Also I couldn't find a great place for the idle cable so I fabricated up a little bent wire piece to hold the cable, I've since powder coated it. I'm going to make up a batch of these to sell so others won't have to snap tie the idle cable ect. I have them partially done just haven't had the time lately to finish them up.

Here you can see the idle cable holder.

Hope this helps.

I've started making up a batch of the XRR Edelbrock idle cable holder brackets. I just need to find the time to finish them up. I'll list them up when I get the batch done.

Thanks,
