North NM Jemez Valles Caldera Area Ride

Here's a ride I did today with some buddies from ADVRider in the Rockies Region Forum.

Ride is by my home in Northern NM - Jemez Mountains. It was a preride in preparation for a much larger group ride scheduled for May 30th.

Today we did PreRide #1. The goal of this preride was to check conditions on the south end of the Valles Caldera Loop (Main Ride is on May 30^th).

We wanted to check the south end of roads: Starting at Cochiti Pueblo we rode Dome Rd. (FR289), FR36, NM 4, FR106, then south on FR144 to head back to La Cueva for lunch.

Four riders: AKASY, Slojoe, Loren and AtomicXRer (me). Here’s where we started, and were getting the bikes readied in Cochiti, NM:

thanks for sharing the pics. That looks like a great place to visit. I really miss the wide open spaces to ride. Back where I lived in NZ it was simalar in some parts to your photos. Now I live in France a typical track is abit like that photo with all the rocks and hill climb. Really chews the tyres.
