After all the horror stories I've heard from folks in Oregon I was surprised when my son and I walked in with a title and walked out of the local DMV with a plate. No questions asked. Zip, zilch, nada! Son was a very happy camper.

Seven months later and no repercussions...

nah...Oregon changed the law in 2002...no more DS conversions. All bikes must now be street legal from the factory or no go. We suspect that we bypassed the hassle because we got the title changed to Oregon first and then later went in to register it -or- and this is probably more correct, none of our four xrs is newer than 2001.
