I only put the knobbies on and rode the trails of Deer Valley, by Clear Lake Ca. one weekend, and a few jaunts around Sonora Mx. Other than that, I've been riding with supermotard rims almost exclusively in San Francisco. I've always been more of a rider than a tinkerer or fabricator, but I would love to learn from you guys and give my BRP more TLC and even a few mods.

It's not difficult to be honest, don't jump in and try the valve adjustment start with the basics tyre presures and chain maintenance...then move on to remove the wheels and greasing the axles etc. Changing and cleaning your air filter is another easy job along with a new spark plug....take your time and read the book, owners handbook will guide you through the easy stuff and then get a shop manual and start reading and looking at what does what on your bike...don't forget to pickup a decent set of tools.
