seat mods
ive checked out a few different seat remodelling options, then i decided i could do it myself, i got some extra seat foam from my local upholsterer, ive bored holes into the underside of the std seat foam[ 19mm] about halfway thru, reglued it to base, just finished adding & reshaping it , ive dropt it off to get the seat cover widened, ill post a photo as soon as i get it back, trying to replicate what 'seat concepts' do to theirs, ive also whipped up a sheepskin overcover to give it a few more km's duration for my bad back, as im going on a trip down to our south island to attend the burt monroe festival, going on a 3day adventure ride on the way down[ see www.high country trail.co.nz ] then will be riding the 1000km's back home, so ill have a few pic's to post when i get back

Re: seat mods
I might have a rear wheel for sale shortly, depends on how good you want it....my new set are close to mint but my current rear has a few tiny spots on the spokes which might polish out but not 100% sure as you might just polish through to the steel through the plating....rims are decent but not what I would call mint they have a few tyre lever marks...can always upload a shed load of pictures if needed ....OFF TOPICMad Frosty wrote:Yes i have seen them , nice set of wheels for reasonable price . Re: seat mods
That looks very plush. Just redid mine using an OEM seat cover and upholstry foam.
We added 2 inches to the heighth and width.

Re: seat mods
I just installed a Seat Concepts seat a few weeks back, and it's absolutely fantastic! Took half a day with a cheap crap stapler, but the result is awesome. It's narrow at the front, so it doesn't get in the way when standing up or when hugging the tank. It's firm but super comfy. It should be said that I couldn't go 45 min on the standard seat without medical attention.

Re: seat mods
Just put a Seat Concepts seat on mine and took it for a 300klm round trip, HUGE improvment - money well spent.

seat upgrade
seat concepts design is what i modeled my seat mod on, it has proved capable of 600k rides, it cost me about $40nz to mod &get recovered, the sheepskin over cover is the key to long periods of transport sections , saves the numb bum setting in so early.

Re: seat mods
This is the best mod ever , even for the purists whom like to keep the bike totaly stock/ OEM .
If i was only allowed to change one thing on the XR it would be the seat
