Hello,

My name is Thomas Zimmermann. I have a: 2000, xr650r SM.

I just refinished rebuilding my motor; It has 11:1 compression and the engine in my bike is just a little too hard to start.....

Since I have many years of machining/fabrication experience, I am currently designing an: xr650r only, applicable electric starter, and complete kit.

I would like to find "someone", who currently is willing to 'loan me', their aftermarket "Baja Designs" electric starter billet cover.

I would gladly buy the unit but am unable to locate one for sale.

I need the "Baja Designs", billet cover to gather measurements for a similar, yet not conflicting designed unit. I.e. I will be utilizing a smaller, lighter, and different positioned starter motor.

I am willing to pay $ 500.00 cash or bank transfer to use this cover for (2) weeks to generate measurements and CAD drawings for template comparison.

Please email me: classicyachtsailing@gmx.com or call me directly at: (415) 988-3088, if interested.

I will return the cover to you within this time-frame, and I will pay all shipping cost.

Thank you for your interest.

Best regards,

Thomas Zimmermann

Tom,

there's an Italian outfit (or are they Swiss?) which (used to?) make an e-start for this bike. The kit is still for sale I think, just search the web.
