hello from Sunny Tucson
I'm happy to find this forum, I look forward to gleening many useful tips from all you veterans (and perhaps even sharing the odd lesson learned the hard way).
Just picked-up a really clean 2002 XRR a couple of weeks ago. Not my first bike, i've had a '95 Xr600r and a KLR650 in the past five years.
REALLY happy to have the new bike though. I was tempted to purchase a CRF450X (I was dazed by all the hype), but I'm glad to say I didn't. More money, more headaches, and frankly more bike than I need for what I do.
The bike had "around 200 miles on it", which you hear all the time, but I'm pretty confident is actually true in this case. It was 100% factory stock other than CR high bars and the addition of a trailtech Enduro. Who owns an XRR for six years and doesn't uncork it????? Oh, and those "Seal Savers" which are coming off soon. One ride down a really wet and sandy wash and there was crud on the inside. I'm sure the full length versions work well but these suck.
Anyway, that's now done. I'm running a 172 main, 68S pilot, B53E needle. Big "O" carb thingy, and drilled the pipe with a 2" whole saw. Almost all my riding is above 3,000ft, probably most is above 4,000 come to think of it. Currently we're in the 60-70 degree range, but of course it get much hotter in the summer. I bought a 162 main for those months. Any feedback on this setup is appreciatted.
Well that's it for now I guess. Here are a few pics of my new BFF!
Craig
For those interested, I paid $3,300 for it. I got a new Clark 4.7? in that too. Seemed like a good deal.

Sorry badcooky, it's already installed and it's a keeper. Out here in the desert SW it can be a long way between fill-ups.
