Auto Clutch...Good or Bad?

Auto Clutch...Good or Bad?
Not that I'm nuts over the auto clutches but if I have the time and money, is the auto clutch a good thing? I have read where the XR chews up auto clutches for breakfast.

PM Husky123. He has the Revloc on his. I use the Rekluse on my race bike and dont have any issues. Desertfox may have something to say also.

Revloc = Good.
Here's a little article I wrote for our blog:

Re: Auto Clutch...Good or Bad?
Been working to much and I have not fully installed and test ridden yet, also waiting on the BD stator rewind to get back. I fully expect the auto-clutch to be one of the best mods I will do to this bike and the Revloc looks to be up to the abuse the XR can dish out. I will keep you posted when I get a little seat time.

I read your review and watched the video. Impressive! I've got a few questions, Is the Pro model available for the XR650R? What are the differences between the 2 models? And I'm a little concerned by the gap check every 25 hours. How easy will that be to perform in the field on long dual sport trips?

Re: Auto Clutch...Good or Bad?
Hey guys! We just got back from the dealer show in Indy. WOW!
The Rekluse Pro is not available for the XRR. The regular clutch is. I will be installing the Rekluse in my XRR in a couple of weeks and will do a video of it to show everyone what is involved. I have had 2 other Rekluses and have had zero problems. If you dont want a Rekluse, Revloc makes an autoclutch for the XRR that seems to be doing well.

I really don't think you can go wrong with the Rekluse or Revloc in the money 650R.

I have a friend who is a Rekluse dealer so I'll give it a try... Thanks for the help.

Re: Auto Clutch...Good or Bad?
Stay away from auto clutches IMO.
the XR will burn out those plates if you use it in single track for extended periods.
I had to tow out a 450EXC who burnt his plates out.

Re: Auto Clutch...Good or Bad?
Why? You really need to try one. My autoclutch has saved me from... getting stuck, crashing, wearing out clutch plates, stalling, not making it up damn near impossible hills, and makes life so nice and easy. Whats not to like?

I have the Rekluse clutch and really like it. Although I haven't had it long and I plan on putting many miles on it. We'll see how it does in the long run.
