New Tyre Profile Too Big
Think my tyre bargain is a bit to big lol, it does fit but rubs on the shock guard very slightly..... chain could do with an extra link; but not planning on adding 1. Anyway for future reference its a 130/90-18 and it's the 90 causing the problems next time I will go with an 80 need to use this 1 up first then another in the loft
Whilst I am here anyone got any idea's what these cuts were made for ?.

Re: New Tyre Profile Too Big
I'd buy my next chain now, and put it on - 2 links longer of course. The existing chain I'd use as my next of course.
If you'd do the above you also may want to mount a +1 tooth (maybe +2?) rear sprocket, as this 80-series tyre will have increased your gearing.
Can't figure out the location of those cuts? Also don't recognize them, so maybe they're wear-marks of some sort.

Hi Burp, it's a nearly new chain and no split link so not keen on changing it yet, rear already is 50t and front 13. The tyre fitted is a 90 profile.....
The cuts are under the rear fender on the airbox side they look like knife cuts they are very thin and fairly deep.

Cuts - chain-break once maybe?
Ya, new chain, that's why I'd put it aside (safe storage for later) & get another one. Personally (got the proper tools) I'd add a link, a pet peeve is rubbing somewhere, I hate that ......... but that's me

I have those 3 cuts also in the same direction as the picture and i have 2 stripes on the right exaust side.
must be something from the pressing in the factory.

Thanks Rikco, I wonder what they are ?, seems a strange type of cut least our bikes are faster than Burps so it's not all bad newsrikco wrote:I have those 3 cuts also in the same direction as the picture and i have 2 stripes on the right exaust side.

Pulling a knife in a gunfight......
Mauser ma man, you're lucky I'm too lazy to figure out how to post pics here - but not too lazy to type so I'll give you a hint. Got 3 parts lying here, compliments of XRsOnly. Deserved compliments at that, because one of the parts is wrapped in a genuine HRC wrapper - akin to a chickentooth but lots better. The other part is partly coated in an excruciatingly thin layer of ceramic material, the rest just coated with teflon. The last part, 4 actually, weighs negligable, some oscillating titanium stuff.
If mine is slow now it won't be for long
I just looooove doing
