This is my first posting and wanted to share a bit of the experience I had in riding my 2004 to South America. I bought the bike new in 2006 from a dealer in Charlotte, N.C. specifically for the trip. Would be happy to talk a little about the trip if anyone is interested. We left from home in early August of '06 and reached Santiago, Chile, the 1st of November. Crossing the Andes with a main jet much too large was my only difficulty.

please post pics, ive always thought its ideal place for brp touring, having ridden round a lot of new zealand , it has lots of gravel roads, but also lots of blue coloured piggys, who seem to dream about how to hand out more tickets to m/c riders, any pics appreciated

I'd love to hear about your adventure! Start at the start, with how you came to decide on the XRR and take your time with lots of pics... study
