Do you mount Atomic Annie on the rear rack?

As usual from you there are some inspiring vistas.

How do you like that rear rack setup? I had something similar for a couple of rides but it made swinging my leg over the bike quite a chore.

Thanks.

The rear rack is a little on the large side I agree. Makes it a little hard always getting your leg over the top. However, I do like it when you drop the bike. A good place to hold on to to pick up, and it absorbs all the scratches rather than the side covers....The rack is also solidly bolted to the sub frame with a bracket.

Great looking XR! I love that panorama shot. New Mexico is some beautiful terrain, but last time I was riding out there it was just WAY too hot!

Not sure what you mean about it being hot...probably southern NM is what you are refering to. I live at 7400 ft. and most of the terrain in North NM is at elevation above 6000ft. It rarely gets above 85 deg F in the hottest part of the summer around my area. Elevation in my riding area are at 6500 ft to 10,800 ft with peaks in the 12,000ft range.

Atomic,

that's a gorgeous KDX I must say!!! Looks new or you ride barefoot razz , but I just had to comment on your silencer:
You see, the bike itself weighs about 105 Kg, of which the exhaust-chamber is a large part.
That you've taken care of by the looks of it.
But now the std-silencer you still have on (~52 Kg Cool ) pushes the back down!
Look at your sandy pic - er, logical I'd say?
pirat

Jokes aside, years ago I only had money for an FMF cilencer, so only put that on. The chap told me there's zero difference as the pipe made a huuuge one, but, lacking cash, I didn't put it on.
On the way home (suburban area) it wheelied a LOT easier off the various speedhumps..... so the next morning I went back for the pipe!!
Never regretted that, but that silencer does make a big diff - maybe get one?
Enjoy that bike, it's already a classic (not made anymore, surely you know?).

Love the KDX, everyone else I've talked has commented that an aftermarket silencer is not gonna give me big gains over the stock one. I've got most gain out of the KDX with USD forks, carb & head mods by RB Designs, and lastly the expansion chamber. However, wanting a little more 2T power, so I just got me a KX250 to try this season...it's street-legal plated too.
