XR650L oil level problem

This is an XRL problem but it is a close Brazilian cousin of my XRR

I have a problem with my mates XRL. He changed the oil and filter and put in 1.95L – If I check the oil when the bike is warm and running it is correct. If I switch off the motor I can hear gurgling and the oil level drops immediately right off the dipstick.

I know on my XRR with the oil sight tube the level is the same running or if I switch it off.

I see when I opened my XRR there is what looks like a read valve in the bottom of the casings, I assume it is to stop all the oil running back down???

Do you think the XRL has a problem with the read valve? As I say, warm and running the level is fine but if Iswitch the motor off the oil is off the dipstick before I can even check it.

Sorry mate i cannot help you , my knowledge about the L version is very little , have you tryed the lads from ADVrider ? There are some L owners over there .
