rear brake lever?

my new xr650r rear brake lever feels a little to far towards the engine case i have to have my foot cocked towards the engine case to keep it on the brake and its awkward when doing a wheelie to cover the rear brake are they always like this or is there an aftermarket one that sticks out a bit further?

They do sit close to the case....that's normal; yours might have had a fall on that side and bent it slightly in ?.

ok it did have a fall before i bought it and the crazy thing is is iv been riding the holy crap out of it on single track and i haven't fallen yet!! but iv tried to bend it back out but it wont move much. the only time it bothers me is in a wheelie because my foot has to be positioned a little weird. i wonder if theres an aftermarket brake lever that sticks out more.

to bend hi-tensile alloy you have to heat it, in a oven to around 250degree +, if its not very tensile , like levers i boil them in water

Mine was sticking out last night , but the GF had sorted it out for me , all is good now , she is a expert
