Valves were super tight?
I own a tanning salon, I do customer service/sales/electricity/general maintence and construction. . . I never did engines and after buying this bike I just want to keep fixing and learning and tinkering and busting knuckles ( wrecked one trying to get the siezed kickstand bolts off this am ). Long story short. . .
I've always felt the bike vibrated way too hard. Everything I read says "shes a vibrator" so never thought much of it. Since buying the bike I have straightened out DS kit to make it functional and learned what I have and don't have. Got it running well ( to my knowledge ) all within reason of a not being mechanically inclined but fast and willing to learn and try. Yesterday I tryed the Valves. I bought feeler gauges, read every link and forum post, refered to shop manual ETC. It took a while to get everything where it needed to be to actually take measurements, but it seemed as though the valves were SUPER tight. Educated guessed it. Got the intake to .006 and the exhaust to .008. Put it back together and after only 3 or 4 kicks....started right up and boom bad vibes gone.
Felt good to get in, try and get it right. Becoming one with the beast. Throttle response feels better but the bike is still rich.
Air fuel screw does nothing ( screw, spring, washer, gasket..its in correctly )
0-500ft 60-90 avg ride temp
68s 174 main needle 3rd clip
airbox mod
Mishmosh post. Kinda venting/typing thinking out loud in the archives of the internet.
Ps I work on my bike right outside the salon. . .sweet bikes and hot babes all day and have a Honda Service shop in walking distance.

Re: Valves were super tight?
Do you have an air filter fitted ?.....sounds a silly question but mine didn't and the A/F screw didn't make any difference till I fitted 1....she had the spark screen but no element.

You UK blokes. By fitted do you mean installed or trimmed to fit? I cleaned back fire screen, airbox, new air filter with light coat of oil ( I ride all street ). Air/fuel screw has 0 affect.

Re: Valves were super tight?
Mine didn't have a filter at all...not there just the screen...was letting way to much air in.

Pig,
the men from Blighty are funny in some ways, but before you whack your chest.... you guys are too! Did you know there is zero alumin in Europe for instance? They've got different stuff there, aluminium
'Fitted' means 'mounted', not so much trimmed to get it to fit - however yeah, it sometimes can mean that too Gotta love the English lang!

Firstly you could try opening the mixture screw to 2.25 turns out and lower the idle speed.
Good chance the bike's idle speed is set too high and the main jet is feeding the engine, hence the mixture screw does nothing.
Now, where's the pics of the "hot babes"?? You cant tell us about them and not deliver

You need to use a photo hosting site. I use photobucket. You'll need to sign up but it's free and simple.

Hahaha. Porn. Didn't even notice that. I'm usually just fixated on the left girls chest. That is a tv show Sons of Anarchy.

I'll trade my pig in on her in a flash, then flash her.... or something.
Now, what was this thread about again????
