oil leak
Hello forum members, I'm new to the forum/xr650r world. Got a chance to own a 2001 xr650r and am concerned about a little oil leak from the bolt/nut directly across from the rear brake lever. I'm a complete novice when it comes to trouble shooting and maintenance, so please bear with my ignorance......
Bike started great, oil is at right level. Rode the bike for a mile and noticed a bead of oil on said part. Wiped off oil an tried again.......same result. Any ideas and or how deep a problem this might be?
Thanks for any ideas.

Copied from my other reply...
Right click on your picture on photobucket and select properties at the bottom...highlight and copy the long url on the picture....looks like this https://2img.net/h/i1295.photobucket.com/albums/b640/offroadjeep_yj/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpscf9dd3d5.jpg come back to here and then insert the picture into your post by clicking the little icon 18 from the left hover your mouse over it says "Insert an image" paste the long url into the top box and click "insert" it should add tags around the url like
Then your all done... dead easy once you have done a few

Hello Mauser,
Just to be sure.........the nut in the picture I posted is the same one you were responding to(meaning, easy fix with new gasket)? Thanks so much for your time!

Re: oil leak
Yup new gasket needed....comes of easy, here's what it looks like below...pulled mine off some time back to check & clean the lower mesh screen...add some copperslip to the seal faces that way it will come off again without ripping the gasket....
