it dies when i acelerate Empty it dies when i acelerate

Hi guys, need some opinions on this issue.
My XR  didn't work for some time.
Last weekend I wanted to go for a ride and put it out of the garage.
Kicked it once and she worked...but when I accelerated it died.

I removed Carb TM40, opened and cleaned jets. Reinstalled it and kicked it once and, again, she work...but the issue is still there.

Also changed change spark plug for a new one.

Any ideas guys?

Does she cut out or just bog down ?, my old 250R was terrible if I left the choke on...worth a look ?

No choke on...when I touch the accelerater it just dies, simple as that

Pull the plug and see what colour it is ?...rich or lean @ time of death BRP smile

Have you checked the air filter as it might be full of dirt. That would choke it.

Have you checked the air filter as it might be full of dirt. That would choke it.

I know a bike of mine with a FCR had similar symptoms when the slide was installed back to front. I don't think it is possible to do the same on the TM though?

The bike was running great...i just left it stoped for some time

I have used Silkolene FST on another bike to prevent carb icing but it also cleans the carb as well and I now add it to fuel when a bike has been standing a while to clean the green gunge that starts to build in the carb. It could be worth a try.

Some additional infos. Bike starts at first kick, cool or hot. When I open choke it works better. Still, if I touch accelerater it dies. So be issue should be or lack of fuel (jet problem) or too much air. Tested air leak and found none. Have dissambled Carb again and will do another jet cleaning.

Sounds like she's not getting enough fuel. Check your vent tube on the gas tank, then check fuel line, float needle.
