Dual Sport Gearing
I'm currently riding with 15/45 and its a great setup for DS. But I find when I'm riding with bigger capacity bikes, they tend to ride a little faster on the black stuff. The pig gets a little vibey above 130kph and to me, she could be running is probably running higher than I like.
I've slapped some Pirelli Scorpions on right now to go play out in the twisties and I was thinking about gearing her to a 42/43... But I've also read about the chain slider wear...
Should I be concerned?

How do they run? Does it make the bike noticeably more lazy?

Is it just me that dislikes Alu rear sprockets?
They wear like hell, steel's the way to go for me!

All that rust on your bike I guess a rusty rear sprocket wouldn't look out of place if the alloy 1 wears I will replace it with another and no rust

Ja Stev0,
and this reminds me I should not PM Mauser with my private pics, embarrassing at times
I've got the ligther-than-ali steel rear sprocket from the USA, can't remember the brand - but it's lasercut, large openings, spoked, very light indeed..... but steel, it lasts!

Steel's the go. If your sprockets are rusting your doing something wrong.
Not lubing or not riding enough.

I haven't tried that ratio yet but it won't be long before I do.stev0 wrote:wassie wrote:the standard AU gearing is 15:41

It wont be lazy but will be about 3kph faster at idle so if your in any tight stuff use the clutch more.

Wassie,
Mauser washes too much!
Maybe we must tell him that after his washing/polishing/scrutineering he should spray the entire bike with a light diesel mist!
Prevents rust for sure!
Yeah, also prevents any braking, sure...... but NO rust!
