Rear tire wear limit?
When do you replace your rear tire?
What is the knobbie height when you decide it is time for a new rear tire or even the front tire?

I can't speak for everyone and may be wrong here ...
My thinking here is this:
I am kinda paranoid about washing the front end out. So I replace the front tire when it starts to look like its taken some real damage and beatings. Depending on where you ride that might take awhile. If you are on the gas a lot the rear tire can go away pretty quick. Say 1000-2500 miles.
If you'd like I'll go see what I use. Last time I had the bike at PC I had them put new tires on it and I use the same ones they used on the 1000 bikes.

Re: Rear tire wear limit?
Take the knobs pretty low and rotate the tyre on the rim for extra economy "Steering" away from knobs with Big Bores having a tendancy to peel the knobs like a banana, going intermediate tyre, find only need the knobs for soft terrain like mud but apparently with less air in the Mitas E-07 its suprising where you can go. Braking on the tar with knobs find bit "Iffie"

Depends?
I prefer a fresh knobby, but I usually run them down to about a 1/2 inch and then I find myself doing burn outs and more tarmac just to wear it out and justify a new one. Or if the guys I am riding with are climbing further up the hills than me the tire is replaced quickly. Nothing like a fresh knobby.

Yes, let us know, please.
I'm not too happy with the D739 (rear) on hard pack. So-so, ok, fair....
