Yep getting there. Still some expensive bits to buy though - like the triples with scotts damper but my deadline is April so it will get there soon and finally I can ride the thing!!

What about keeping it as a show bike and buy another one for riding

Re: Cool XR650R Pix!
Yeah that has been the plan before, and my wife even encouraged having it in the house on show! Reality though with house and child commitments I can't really afford to keep two, so the plan now is to buy a second set of everything visual and have it's photographed once completed, then ridden in road legal state (just the odd weekend ride) and then when I ever want to have it in replica state again I can swap out to the fresh plastics and other bits. I have luckily got two of all the decals and important replica bits.

I just loosely fitted everything to take the photos, I still have work to do under the tank and seat.

Hi guys, I found a whole heap of old images through searching archives of old websites back in 2005 and thought I would share them!
Here is Johnny Campbell aside the beast (the exact bike I am replicating):

Not sure; stainless, possibly older FMF.
Front end is going to be a rally/road book setup, based on the RAID Designs AB MRS headstock mounted rally instrument bracket.
Currently houses the battery, updated reg/rec, fuse box, wiring etc... , and a trailtech headlight.
