North NM DS Tour
This is a ride I did last weekend that I thought I would share with you all.
Here's a map of the two day ride. 1st day in red. 2nd day in blue. Started and ended in Los Alamos/White Rock , NM.
Getting ready to leave:
Ok ....Here's taking a break right around NM126 near Fenton Lake and on
our way north towards Chama. It was cold and foggy in the morning (but
no rain either day ):
mtech1950:
Cruising on NM126 near Cuba:
FR112:
El Vado Lake:
DirtDad could not get me to ride his orange bike, I like red.
DirtDad:
Again, just taking in the views:
Ready for lunch in Chama:
After Chama and entrance to Rio Los Pinos to get to FR87:
Entrance to Rio Los Pinos from CO side:
Las Cruces Basin Wilderness off of FR87:
San Antonio Mtn (Hwy 285 at CO/NM border):
Coming around the bend at the John Dunn Bridge in Arroyo Hondo:
Rio "Grande?"
Day Two, and having some fun on FR437 in Carson NF:
Some of these pics are courtesy of DirtDad:
We also made a quick stop at the Sipapu, NM BMW rally:
Then we started our way back home through Alcalde:
Some of the route required us to "improvise" to reach our favorite areas:
Last few hills be fore we head home:
Finish line:
Ok, two days and 418 miles...my ass is sore on the stock seat!

Re: North NM DS Tour
Any recommendations on a softer aftermarket seat?
About 200 miles a day is the limit for me on the stock seat...

I've got a renazco
I bought it after a 200 mile ride with a fat guy who had one on his XR. It is an excellent product. Perhaps we could ride together in AZ with Dave and you could try it or something. I'm 6'4" so mine is kinda tall.
Renazco was doing a deal for locals but he may have stopped. And turn around isn't timely... But he's the best. You could probably come close to it in a DIY way if you have some skills in sewing. I could trace you a pattern. He completely reshapes the seat as you see here: http://renazco.com/gallery.cfm
Renazco also uses a few different foams, and a water barrier liner under the suede I think he said. Mine was $300. I think it's usually $400. But until last week I lived about 10 miles from him. A lot of guys with big KTMs and Rallye bikes use his seat. Perhaps you could find a local guy with one to rub your end on? Or in a pinch I could ship you mine perhaps.
