XR650r Gearbox mod.

Morning all, One annoying thing(to me ) with the 650 gearbox is first gear and fifth is when your in first or fifth you can still search for another gear rather than a stop like on other bikes. The problem is easy fixed by adding 2 extra pins on the selector drum.I have done this mod. and it works great. Sorry no pic's ( at work unable to load pic's stupid web filter ) i will when i get home.

There are dents where the pins would go

All i did was drill out the holes and cut the drill bit and tack weld the top

The gearbox is completely apart at the moment for the rebuild and 680 kit stay tuned i will take more pic's with the gear and selectors in place

Post up some pics when you get to them, I'd like to take a peak into the bowels of my XRR.

Never seen that mod before. Good idea. I know I'm always reaching for 6th.
