My bike is running super rich. It starts right up with no choke and puffs black smoke from the exhaust. I have a 68 pilot(NOT 68s I will be putting that in when I get it) and 165 main in right now. It had a 72 pilot and 180 main in it when I took carb apart the first time. It runs exactly the same with each setup and I cant adjust with the air fuel mixture. Anyone have this issue happen or can send me in the right direction?

post a pic of your plug after a proper run and have you checked your valves? check float level and how many hours that you know on bike?

I can post a picture of the plug tomorrow but I can tell you it is very black, but not wet. I have not checked the valves but the float is in spec. As far as hours I am not sure but it is in great shape with little wear on the cases. I have not checked compression but at 220 pounds I can nearly stand on the kick start and it wont go down. I guess valves are next.

No need to be sorry. I appreciate the help. Im at about 400' elevation in eastern PA. It is uncooked with an Akrapovic exhaust. as far as the air filter I took it off (twin air) and ran exactly the same. My thing is no matter what I do I can't adjust anything. I guess its internal but i want to be sure before i tear it apart.

I can tell you i got the bike non running with no spark. It ended up being the pick up coil so i got a Ricks high output stator.
