installing a battery

installing a battery
i finished installing a dual sport kit but needed to put a battery in the system, didnt want to use a 10 cell so i got a lead acid 12v 1.3 amp and started looking for a place for it.
had to hook up under the seat not much room here
this is the battery i am using no room under here
this looked like an easy place for it but it might not have stayed
decided i would mount it here under the headlight
i made a template out of cardboard using the 2 holes that the original headlight hooked into
then i cut it out of sheet metal, bent it into a box, and soldered it together, decided i needed to brace it to the lower tree bolts
this is the finished product, my soldering skills aren't pretty but they are sturdy! a little silver paint and its ready to go.
i put the battery in a piece of front tube and pushed it down in the box, it fit real tight, and then i re-installed the headlight.
here it is works good ,a little ugly ,and there is my other x ,vtx 1800,with my xr650r, and that is dos equis.
monday i am off to see the wizard,or the dmv to get a plate i hope .xx
