My new XR650R 07
Hi guys,
I live in Angola and bought in 2009 a XR650R 2007...also the happy owner of a Ktm 950 Adv 2004.
I´ve been riding it in some raids...and for fun at the weekends.
Cheers,
César

Yes, street legal already.DoctorXRR wrote:Glad your up and running again! The new front end looks great what did you use? And I take it your bike comes all street legal already?
I've mount CRF fork, a CRF triple clamp adapted for XR, Magura EX, Polisport UFX front fender, Polisport MMX headlight, pro circuit exhaust, and new foot pegs.

Thanks for the info and pics on the forks you fitted. I love that custom rally equipment too! I see the rally bike with fairing also has the super-heavy duty skid plate with tool pockets.

Bajuba,
where in Angola are you? I ask because there is a possibility I might visit there, with a 4x4, but probably will tow a bike along.

footrests
hi, i modded my footrests by moving them backwards 40mm, + down 20mm, i then made new outers & welded them around the std serated f/rests, did make it much easier on hills, otherwise ive just got renthal bars

Kiwi, can you post a pic? how tall are you? I'm 6'1" and I feel my feet are too close to the bars. I changed the bars to Moose ATV bars, like 3" higher.

f/rests
sure, im not tall[ ducks disease], i did it due to feeling too close to bars when hill climbing, i also love power sliding on gravel roads at high speed[why ive modded my mtr for hi rpm power], it allows more weight on r/wheel to aid drive out of corners

Babuja,
As you know I definitely also want a set of those - but wasn't aware you could facilitate in getting a set of them: great, yes please, thanks!
Put me down for a set please, and I can pay you coming Friday when we meet or I'll pay Christo in your name, don't care.
And, because you probably dunno Sean yet I'm more than prepared to do same for him in his name - so better shout pls Seany, we will sort out whatever laters. Oh, and no offense to anyone for being this forward pls, it just may help us and B with his finances (he's about to start a long trip in Southern Africa).
What I am definitely interested in is how the backside of the airfilter-side tank looks like: is it like a standard (closed) sidepanel or has it maybe some vents so as to simulate an opened panel? Oh, whatever it will be, I will have a set, just to be clear.
I know this bike is far away from you now, but if you can arrange a photo then that would be great.
Last but not least: you lucky lucky git you, that new bike looks absolutely awesome!!
