Semi-motard XRR
Hi, I'm Pete from WA state. I've had my XRR for a few years and modified it to suit my desires. I'm an ex roadracer and Supermoto racer and wanted a powerful, but reasonably light weight dual sport bike. I also wanted something reliable, so the XR650R fit nearly perfect. I'm pretty big, so kick starting wasn't an issue, but the street conversion was in my state. I got lucky and found a very low hour '02 from CA that had never been registered in WA and had the full Baja Designs kit installed!? I still had to do a little title work, but I successfully got it registered as a street bike.
I've since made a few mods, but have tried to keep it reliable, as I plan to keep it for a long time. I run the Rekluse auto clutch and rear hand brake on tall ATV bars (I'm 6'6") with a GPR damper and Vector gauge. I've also added a Clarke 4.3 gal tank, wide pegs, Renazco seat, Hot Cams Stage 1 cam, and Leo Vince header. It came fully de-corked with a BD Quiet tip in the stock can. I wanted a Supermoto set up, but was short on $, so I got an NX250 19" front wheel off Ebay and mounted Shinko 705 tires (similar to Distanzias) with an EBC 280mm oversize disc brake kit. It makes for a bike which can hang with Supermotos on pavement, while being a bit better on dirt, as long as it's dry. I love it!

I removed it when racing once, but it just made more noise, no more power! And I'd rather be stealth.
