Castrol power 1 racing 10/40 oil

Has anyone else tried this oil?

I use Silkolene Super 4 10w/40 Semi Synthetic in mine

Is it any good?
I'm topping mine up a lot

Never had any issues with it on my ZX12-R....the JR1300 my DT175 or the 650

Castrol?

But ehh, you better look where the oil goes if you 'top up a lot'?
Overfilling, airbox/breather, or rings if not valve guides?

I was using Silkolene comp2 SX.
I bought 20l of this on Ebay for £58.

Found this the other day from some gay quad bike forum when I googled oil review, its old but interesting. According to theses results we should be draining whatever junk we are running and pouring in the Amsoil goodness...

Interesting results Dufasnz! I use too run shell rotella then switched too Amsoil on recommendation from a fellow rider this past summer and noticed my shifting is smoother and engine runs strong and pulls hard IMO i just run what i feel is good for my bike and change oil accordingly and wont substitute for the commercialized oils! the Amsoil i run is pic below

I've been looking into buying a 5 gallon (19L) Maxima Pro Plus 10W40 as its kind of middle of the road and affordable. I can't find the Amsoil in big pails/drum only small quantities at ridiculous prices and I'm sick of constantly buying small containers. I just a brought 57L drum of Automatic transmission fluid to run in my CR500, works out at about NZ$3.10 an oil change. Also got a Maxima 2 stroke oil 5 gallon pail, it works out much cheaper than buying 1L bottles and you have it on hand instead of realising just before a ride you forgot to buy some.... I am an expert at doing this

I have always worked to the theory that reasonable oil changed frequently is better for your engine than expensive oil left in for ages. My Toyota Landcruiser is testament to that, I have doubled the torque output of its 26yr old 4.2L diesel engine to around 700Nm and its done 336,000km. I change the oil + filter every 6000km with cheap Valvoline and she purrs. It surprises every petrol head that gets in it!!

Oil is cheap, I change it ever 1000 miles on the road bikes and every 6 months on the dirt bikes....roughly 500 miles cannot be exact as no odometer fitted lol....also pop a new OEM filter in....never check oil levels just fill up with what the book says....

I hear ya Dufasnz i did like the convenience of the shell rotella as its available just about every store around and at only U.S.$12.00 a gallon opposed too Amsoil which is U.S.$11.00 a Qt/L and i have too drive 10 miles out of town too only retailer that carry's it! I usually buy 3 bottles 2 for the bike and extra just in case for top off which i never need(so i really only buy 2 next time around as i still have extra one)! I only change my oil in the big pig once a year so spending a little extra money on the Amsoil doesn't bother me much just the wife
