I'm in southwest ohio, just bought a 2001 xr650r, looking forward to having some fun on it, coming from a little 250 dual sport. I've got some little electrical bugs to sort out for the baja designs light kit, but dang this bike runs great.

It has a IMS 4.6 gallon tank on it, and has been uncorked and jetted, other than these parts and the baja designs kit, it appears to be stock. Oh, it also has an old trail tech that doesn't work.

In fair shape for an older bike, but I need to find a right radiator shroud/ cover. If anyone has a spare laying around, let me know before I buy a new pair.

I just registered and insured today, so as soon as I hook the tail light/ brake light back up, I'll go riding the roads with my fellow dual sporters.

Welcome from a distance she looks stock, most people seem to have some sort of electrical problem with the Baja wiring...I run my bike is stock US form over here in the UK and just adapt her once a year for the MOT test....I add a buzzer for a horn....and remove headlight and cover up rear tail light....she passes BRP smile then I go back to stock 30 mins later lol.

I have ordered a new taillight, and rear blinkers for the bike. Also adding a key switch I have from an old suzuki enduro. The turn signal blinker was bad, so I swapped out another i found laying around, and discovered that the left front light works, but the right front flashes the headlight/ running light for some reason. The wires for both the tail light and rear turn lights were badly routed and worn through, so I will be replacing these parts and wiring.

I just picked this 2004 up a week or two ago.  Is there any body out there currently producing a light tower kit.  I noticed there are some older post in the mod thread and I found Perfect Fairing out of the UK but refuse to sink thousands of dollars into a light tower. Eventually I am planning on trying to fab up a Kennaroo style looking fairing but first need to get the lights mounted to the frame so they are not turning with the bars.    New BRP owner Img_1311
