New owner

Hi have just bought a brilliant XR650R with only 2,460 miles on clock so as new £1900.00 so think I had a good deal. Bike runs well not sure yet what I will be using the bike for as have been out in the hills of Bridgend Wales where i live and first thought are how tall the bike is and what a pig to start and pick up when I cam off on the slopes!! Any way first problem with the bike is that it keeps loosing petrol from the carb overflow? Have removed cleaned and check the settings, its all as should be set up for unrestricted jets needle and float height 16mm, rubber needle point on float is perfect no marks or seating rings. So does any one have any ideas please. Bill
