New Front Master Cylinder Needed
Hi guys,
Need your help, my US imported piggy has no front brake light switch; I fitted a hydraulic pressure switch which has worked OK for last 12 months but now has failed....question is will a master cylinder from another bike fit and if yes which ?, ideally 1 which takes a stock brake switch so I can plug into my stock UK wiring loom.
Of course I am checking ebay for UK spec master cylinders as I type !!!

Re: New Front Master Cylinder Needed
No idea....... but I'd get a new pressure switch, they - normally - last a lifetime.
The problem you face is, the diameter of the master cylinder must be same, otherwise you might end up going over the bars (smaller dia) or going straight through those stone walls I've heard about (bigger dia).
Considering this, do mount a helmet cam pleeeaaasse?
KIS bru, get same, cheapest too I think

I did think about another switch but reading the forums and other peoples problems it seems these switches fail when you are lightly applying the brakes...99% time for me..the contacts are therefore only slightly touching and soon become dirty due to arcing and then they fail....hence replacement MC needed.
Update just spoken to Paul over at www.650R.co.uk and he will be sorting out a new MC and hose..... .

Well, if that is the prob.... mount an LED rear brake light! Less current so less arcing of the contact points, and normally more light too?

All being well should have a UK model master cylinder with the proper brake switch attached ....and new hose to go with it .
